Her early successes in the performing arts, that we now know as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier to her place in the "child prodigy" category. For a child with Irish origins, who was surrounded she was by gifted parents and family members, this came naturally. Maureen was born in this cosy refuge on the 17th of August 1920. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was an athlete at heart and loved playing sporting games. Her natural interest and her talent in performing was astonishing. She took home almost all Feis Award for Drama and Theatre Performance the country could provide. In her 14th year, she joined at the Abbey Theater to follow her goal of studying the classical theater and operatic singing.
